THE MUFULIRA WEB SITE 

Each week we receive an average of two or three requests from ex Muf folk asking to be listed on the Mufulira Web Site. Judging by the comments we get, the site is appreciated by many! In view of this, I thought that it may be of interest to many to know how the whole system operates. 

Three people in South Africa are responsible for this site. They are :-

Gina Gordon in Durban 
Gina is responsible for compiling and publishing all those interesting Mufulira Mirrors ( MM's ) that are loaded on to the Web Site on a monthly basis.
Gina needs your old memories and stories for her publication. She will appreciate receiving items from you.

Nigel Jackson in Johannesburg
The  address is linked to Nigel's server. He answers the mail and distributes incoming messages and requests to be listed on the Web Site to either Gina or Sandy. 

Sandy Brück in Johannesburg
Her IT company Focal Point CC, designed the Web Site for the Mufulira Club. Sandy is contracted by us on a professional basis to load and manage information we send to her once a month and to make improvements to the site where possible or where we can afford improvements. We have agreed with Sandy on very reasonable per minute worked billing to keep our site up to date as possible by loading contact numbers, photographs and the monthly MM's.
Some points to note:

We collect peoples contact details and send them off to Sandy about once a month. This may be the reason why you don't see the information you submitted right away.

If the server doesn't want to accept your info, don't keep trying as this often results in us receiving multiple submissions. Submit your details via our email address instead.

Click on the "look up old friends" button on the main page to see all the listed names and email addresses. 
Use the "message board" to post a comment. See old pictures that we have of times long ago in Mufulira, by clicking on the Photo Gallery. Use the photo archives button to see previously published pics. Read the MM news letters by clicking the Mufulira Mirror button.

If you notice any pics in the photo gallery with out name captions and you know the persons name ----- write to us with the info so that it can be published for every ones benefit.

*** No one makes any money out of this project, except Sandy Brück who is paid a professional fee as the Web Master for the time it takes to perform updates and maintenance.

YOUR ANNUAL DONATION OF R 100 INTO THE ABOVE BANK ACCOUNT IS NEEDED NOW IN ORDER TO KEEP FINANCING THE MUF CLUB WEB SITE. 

If you prefer to contribute by cheque, make it out to " The Mufulira Club" and mail it to:- PO Box 2228, Wilro Park, 1731. 

It isn't cost effective to receive the equivalent of R100 in foreign currency as Bank handling charges and commissions total more than the donation. So those in non Rand regions make your donations in Rands via friends or family in South Africa.
